About Asscher Lab-Grown Diamonds

Asscher cut diamonds are square step cuts with cut corners and a deep pavilion, giving a windmill pattern of light. The look is vintage and Art Deco.

What lab-grown means

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.

What certified means

Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.

Asscher Diamond FAQs

What is the difference between an Asscher and an emerald cut?

Both are step cuts. The Asscher is square and deeper; the emerald is rectangular.

What clarity do I need for an Asscher cut?

Like emerald cuts, Asschers show inclusions easily. VS1 or better keeps the look clean.

Do Asscher diamonds sparkle?

They show bold flashes in a windmill pattern rather than many small sparkles.
