About Princess Lab-Grown Diamonds

Princess cut diamonds are square with pointed corners and brilliant facets, giving a crisp, modern look with lots of sparkle. They often cost less per carat than a round of the same size.

What lab-grown means

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.

What certified means

Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.

Princess Diamond FAQs

Are princess cut diamonds good for engagement rings?

Yes. They sparkle brightly and look modern. Choose a setting with prongs that protect the four corners.

Why are princess cuts often less expensive than rounds?

More of the rough crystal is kept when cutting a princess, so less is wasted and the price per carat is usually lower.

What ratio should a princess cut have?

Most people prefer a square stone, with a ratio between 1.00 and 1.05.
