About Marquise Lab-Grown Diamonds

Marquise diamonds have a long, boat-shaped outline with a point at each end. They have one of the largest face-up areas of any shape for their carat weight, so they look especially big.

What lab-grown means

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.

What certified means

Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.

Marquise Diamond FAQs

Do marquise diamonds look bigger?

Yes. A marquise spreads its weight along its length, so it looks larger than most shapes of the same carat.

How do I protect the points of a marquise?

Choose a setting with V-prongs or bezels at both ends to protect the points from chips.

What ratio is best for a marquise?

Around 1.75 to 2.25 is most popular.
