About Pear Lab-Grown Diamonds
Pear shaped diamonds join a rounded end and a point in a teardrop outline. They sparkle like a brilliant cut, look large for their weight and slim the finger.
What lab-grown means
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.
What certified means
Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.
Pear Diamond FAQs
Which way should a pear diamond point?
Traditionally the point faces the fingertip, which makes the finger look longer, but either way is fine.
What should I look for in a pear diamond?
Look for an even outline with balanced shoulders and a faint bow tie, and a setting that protects the point.
What is the best ratio for a pear shape?
About 1.45 to 1.75 is the classic teardrop.
