Emerald cut diamonds have long step-cut facets and cut corners, giving a calm hall-of-mirrors look rather than scattered sparkle. The open table shows clarity clearly, so higher clarity grades are worth it.

About Emerald Lab-Grown Diamonds

Emerald cut diamonds have long step-cut facets and cut corners, giving a calm hall-of-mirrors look rather than scattered sparkle. The open table shows clarity clearly, so higher clarity grades are worth it.

What lab-grown means

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.

What certified means

Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.

Emerald Diamond FAQs

What clarity do I need for an emerald cut?

Step cuts show inclusions more easily than brilliant cuts. VS1 or better is a safe choice for a clean look.

Do emerald cut diamonds sparkle?

They flash rather than glitter: broad flashes of light instead of many small sparkles.

What ratio is best for an emerald cut?

Around 1.40 to 1.50 is the classic rectangle; closer to 1.00 looks almost square.
