About Cushion Lab-Grown Diamonds

Cushion cut diamonds have soft, rounded corners and large facets, a romantic shape with strong fire. They come in square and slightly rectangular outlines.

What lab-grown means

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond, grown in a lab instead of taken from the ground. Even a gemologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart.

What certified means

Certified means an independent lab, usually IGI for lab-grown diamonds, has examined the stone and issued a grading report describing its carat weight and quality. The report number is on each diamond’s page, so you can check it on the lab’s website.

Cushion Diamond FAQs

What is a cushion modified brilliant?

It is a cushion cut with extra facets under the stone, which gives a crushed-ice sparkle. Both styles are listed here.

Do cushion cut diamonds look smaller?

Cushions are a little deeper than some shapes, so they can look slightly smaller than a round of the same carat, with lots of fire in return.

Which settings suit a cushion diamond?

Solitaires, halos and three-stone settings all suit cushions; a halo makes the center look larger.
